Spent turmeric is the turmeric residue after the colouring components have been removed. It’s a byproduct of the 95 per cent Turmeric Curcumin Extraction procedure. It is commonly used as compost or livestock feed. Cattle feed makers use it as an ingredient. This 2 percent is used in numerous feed additives by several feed manufacturers.

This is also utilised in the production of fire/bio briquettes and organic fertilisers.

It can control and limit the growth and colonisation of a wide range of pathogenic and non-pathogenic bacteria in the gut of chickens, resulting in a more balanced the gut microbial environment and improved feed utilisation as measured by live body weight and weight gain. Curcumin gives the yolk a yellow colour, so there’s no need to add pricey colouring additives.
